MCE Moses Kabu Ocansey Highlights Major Development Achievements in Ga South

<p><strong>The Municipal Chief Executive &lpar;MCE&rpar; for Ga South Municipal Assembly&comma; Hon&period; Moses Kabu Kubi Ocansey&comma; has outlined a series of transformative projects he has initiated since his appointment&comma; emphasizing his commitment to improving education&comma; healthcare&comma; and infrastructure across the municipality&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Speaking in an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the signing of performance contracts by Metropolitan&comma; Municipal and District Coordinating Directors at the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council&comma; Hon&period; Ocansey said his administration has made significant strides in delivering tangible benefits to local communities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;When His Excellency John Dramani Mahama gave me the opportunity to serve my people&comma; we laid out a series of projects and most of them are now underway&comma;” he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Education Projects to Transform Learning<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Hon&period; Ocansey revealed that four new school projects are currently being developed to provide accessible&comma; quality education across the municipality&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<ul>&NewLine;<li>Kyekyewere&colon; Two-story school facility for general use&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;• Akwasa Broadcasting&colon; Six-classroom&comma; two-story school in an area previously without public schools&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;• Kuwait&comma; Tuba&colon; Two-story school to serve the growing population&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;• Jei-krodua&colon; New school to cater to the part of the community under Ga South jurisdiction&comma; which had previously not benefitted from any municipal projects&period;<&sol;li>&NewLine;<&sol;ul>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We are putting up schools in areas that have never seen a public school before&period; We want the people to know that we cherish them and are taking care of their educational needs&comma;” he noted&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In addition&comma; Hon&period; Ocansey has successfully lobbied for the establishment of a senior high school&comma; an Islamic Senior High School&comma; and a nursing and midwifery training college&comma; filling long-standing gaps in the municipality’s educational infrastructure&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Healthcare and Market Infrastructure<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The MCE highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare access&comma; including the construction of two new CHPS compounds—one at Domeabra Obom and another at Nsounanu in Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro area&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A 24-hour market&comma; also at Domeabra Obom&comma; which incorporates a women’s bank&comma; has been developed to promote commerce and support local entrepreneurs&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We are also working to upgrade the Obom Health Center to hospital status&comma; ensuring more comprehensive medical care for our people&comma;” he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He further revived several incomplete legacy projects&comma; such as schools at Avornyokope and Bokemi M&sol;A Basic School–Kokrobite&comma; and the CHPS compound at Akuteaku&comma; which is currently being converted into a clinic&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Roads and Infrastructure Development<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Infrastructure has also been a priority&period; Hon&period; Ocansey disclosed that a major road project from Ashalaja to Kwaku Panfo is underway&comma; with contractors expected to complete it within one year and eight months&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He further noted that other key road projects have also been awarded&comma; including the Ngleshie Amanfro SHS School road and the Nsounanu road&comma; as part of the municipality’s broader effort to improve road connectivity and ease of movement for residents&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;These projects are designed to make life easier for residents and improve connectivity across the municipality&comma;” he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Hon&period; Ocansey’s remarks reflect a strategic and results-oriented approach to municipal governance&comma; focusing on delivering lasting benefits in education&comma; healthcare&comma; and infrastructure to improve the quality of life for residents of Ga South&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong> <&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Author&colon; Joseph Wemakor<&sol;p>&NewLine;
