HRRG Executive Director Honoured for Championing Land Rights and Sustainable Agriculture

Eminence Lead International, a non-profit organization committed to community empowerment, has presented a Citation of Honour to the Executive Director of Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), Dr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor, in recognition of his distinguished role as Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the 2025 Farmers Care Programme.

The honour was conferred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, during a brief ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra.

The citation commended Dr. Wemakor for his contribution to farmer empowerment and sustainable agricultural development through knowledge-sharing on land rights and innovative agribusiness practices.

The presentation was made by Emmanuel Ofori, Project Officer for the Farmers Care Programme, who was accompanied by his colleague, Isaac Anane Asare, also a Project Officer with the organization.

Dr. Wemakor was recognized for his participation in the Farmers Care Programme workshop held on November 7, 2025, at the Yilo Krobo Mango Farmers Association (YKMFA) Conference Hall, near Yilo Krobo Senior High School, in Somanya, Eastern Region.

The workshop, themed “Sustainable Agriculture Business Practices and Innovative Agric-Entrepreneurship for Robust Agriculture Development,” brought together more than 300 farmers, agricultural stakeholders, and development partners for a full-day capacity-building engagement.

Delivering a keynote address on “Understanding Land Rights and Laws as a Farmer,” Dr. Wemakor underscored the importance of secure land tenure in enhancing agricultural productivity and protecting farmers’ livelihoods.

He encouraged farmers to properly document land transactions, register lands with the Lands Commission, consult qualified professionals, and actively participate in farmer associations to safeguard their interests.

The citation further acknowledged HRRG’s partnership in the initiative and its sustained impact on communities across Ghana and beyond.

Officials of Eminence Lead International reaffirmed their commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food security through strategic interventions and farmer-focused capacity-building programmes.
