At the heart of Accra this November, a bold vision for Africa’s children will come to life.
The Efua Sutherland Children’s Park will once again transform into a vibrant space of imagination, learning, and hope as EARLYFEST 2025—Africa’s leading festival dedicated to children, innovation, and sustainability—marks its fifth edition.
Slated for November 21st to 22nd, this year’s EARLYFEST promises more than just fun. It offers a powerful platform to champion early childhood development through creative expression, green innovation, and community engagement. The event is organized by the TERIA Foundation, a Ghanaian nonprofit redefining how children across the continent experience education, play, and the environment.
“EARLYFEST is more than a festival. It is a movement to reimagine childhood in Africa by connecting play, innovation, and sustainability in a meaningful way,”
— Walter Mawuli Gli, Founder of EARLYFEST and the TERIA Foundation.
A Festival With a Purpose
Unlike conventional children’s events, EARLYFEST is grounded in a mission: to bridge the gap between policy and practice in early childhood development, and to showcase Africa’s ingenuity in tackling the challenges of tomorrow—starting with its youngest citizens.
This year’s festival will feature:
- Innovation & Sustainability Area: A hub for showcasing eco-friendly products, green technologies, and inventive solutions that promote sustainable living.
- Children’s Activities & Performances: Including live music, dance, storytelling, art displays, and cultural performances that celebrate creativity and self-expression.
- Workshops & Exhibitions: Designed for parents, educators, and innovators to share ideas, tools, and resources for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Networking Opportunities: Connecting stakeholders from across the continent who are committed to transforming early childhood education and care in Africa.
Building a New Future—One Child at a Time
Since its inception, EARLYFEST has grown into more than just an event—it has become a symbol of Africa’s potential to invest in its future by investing in its children. From policy influencers to local artisans, and from tech innovators to school children, the festival brings together diverse voices with a common goal: to elevate the value of early childhood development.
At a time when climate change, inequality, and digital transformation are reshaping societies, EARLYFEST places children at the center of Africa’s development agenda—empowering them not only as beneficiaries but as active participants in building a sustainable future.
